Post 7 – Garbage in, Garbage out…
Todays post is a little different I thought I'd give a custom GPT a go. With all the talk around AI taking jobs and as I'm a graphic designer with other skills I thought I'd try Canva's custom GPT, all I can say is I'm not worried about it taking my job just yet!
If you follow the prompt trail below you'll see what a load of crap the results are, where it got those ideas is beyond me. The closest one to my actual business is the one in the middle which is bloody terrible.
The last one is actually quite funny as an idea although again, way off the mark to what I actually needed.
Me: I have a page on my website that is promoting three tiers of website packages: https://www.lucidsynergy.com/get-online I need a banner image that is a visual metaphor to promote these web packages. Currently it's a group of business people, I need something a bit more appealing to the SMB market sector, perhaps an illustration style. The size is 1920 x 502 pixels

Me: I am using Duda to build websites of all sizes because it has a very user friendly interface for the not so technical end user. The image needs to convey user friendliness and also the fact I can offer a three levels of service, done with you, done for you and do it yourself

So there you have it, conclusive proof that you still need real people with real skills to get things done properly. I think we should use AI as an asset to help us with the more mundane tasks or to help our creative thought processes. I don't see it as a threat unless you completely ignore the fact that it's here and here to stay.
